Coscom dial-up customers would have experienced issues with authenticating to get on the internet this morning. Below is a extract from the outage email we received from our Dial-Port provied. We apologise for any incenvenience caused and woldl like to make sure all our customers know this was something out of our control and effected the whole 0198 333 xxx phone number range. UPDATE - this has now been resolved. Please call the Helpdesk on 0249338767 if you are experiencing any difficulties in connecting still.. Authentication Failure (Error 691)

There is currently an upstream provider issue associated with 0198 333 xxx being unable to authenticate and ruturning 'Error 691'. A fault ticket has been lodged with the Supplier.

Telstra currently is experiencing DNS server issues. This is causing email being sent to Telstra email addresses to get bounced back. Please be aware that if you are having issues sending emails to Telstra customers this is likely cause. |

Authenticated SMTP email server - 21/06/2007 |

Coscom have enabled authenticated SMTP on our email servers. This will mean that those customers with Web/Email or Domain Hosting with us can now use the same mail server for sending and receiving email. All usernames and passwords can be encrypted can be encrypted with TLS/SSL or course for your security. You will need to slightly re-configure your email clients to make use of this new feature. Server upgrades to Coscom mail servers and web hosting servers are just about complete. There have been major upgrades to Server Hardware and SPAM prevention software. We are currently upgrading the 'My Account' section to bring it in line with the rest of the new website. Please let us know if you have any problems with access. ADSL customers will soon be able to get upto the minute 'usage' stats on their connections. |
