Changes happening @ Coscom Solutions

Since the start of the new Financial year there have been a few major changes taking place at Coscom. The biggest by far is Michael Newham leaving Coscom. Michael established Coscom over 12+ years ago and since that date has been providing reliable internet access as well as building and repairing computer systems for the local Maitland and surrounding community. Please wish Michael all the best with the future and his new job.

With this comes the 2nd change, the computer repairs and building side of Coscom will also cease to exist. All warranty on hardware purchased in the last 12 months will be honoured. This includes the closing of the shop in Ashtonfield. All future payments will need to be made via DD/Paypal/Cheque. New address details for postal payments will be provided soon. We will be making changes to the existing phone helpdesk as expected and will notify every one of those changes ASAP.

Lastly, Coscom will be changing providers for its Internet services in the next month. This is due to a number of reasons, the biggest, to allow us to offer highly competitive ADSL plans to our existing and new customers and secondly to give us a more stable solution. There should be minimal if any interruptions experienced by our users during this time. Any configurations changes required will be notified well in advance.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the Coscom Helpdesk. Also note that Coscom has a new problem/ticketing system in place on the website.  If you have any problems with any aspect of your service please register an account on the website and submit a ticket regarding the issues you are experiencing. This new Ticketing system can be accessed from the ‘Problems?’ menu item up the top right of the website.

Too add I should mention a bit about myself for those that may not be aware of who I am. I have been looking after the Internet side of Coscom for the last 5+ years. So there is not too much changing there. What will be changing soon is our prices. Coscom will soon be able to provide much more competitive ADSL/ADSL2 and ADSL2+ prices to allow us to compete with some of the larger organisations around.

Please be aware that Coscom is 100% Australian owned and operated and will remain to do so. I also will be striving to deliver a high standard of support to our existing and new clients as we are aware this has slipped over the last couple of months.

Dial-Up Authentication Outage
Tuesday, 22 April 2008
Yesterday Coscom dial-up customers would have experienced problems with authenticating to get on-line. We upgraded our Authentication servers yesterday and advised out upstream provider 'DFT' of the changes. On updating there records they only half updated them leaving things in a non-working state. I spoke to DFT last night and had the problem rectified and tested by about 9PM.
